If a failed sitting pushes qualification back by a year, the real cost is the qualified salary step-up you have deferred. For accountants, that is the number that matters.
The 2025 Chartered Accountants Ireland Leinster Society and Barden Salary Survey reports an average newly qualified salary package of €72,450, and an average basic salary of €66,998. Against a typical training salary of €33k-€36k, that is a €36k-€39k package uplift waiting on the other side of qualification. Even using basic salary alone, the uplift is roughly €31k-€34k.

Each subject is built as a three-Part system: learn the topic, master the competency, then execute under exam conditions.
We looked seriously at building ACA Notes as a short 50–100 page revision product. The problem is that CAP2 and FAE are not college exams. They are professional examinations, and for most students they are the most demanding exams they will sit.
So the aim was not to make the shortest possible notes. It was to build distilled, syllabus-complete material with enough depth to learn properly, enough structure to revise efficiently, and enough exam intelligence to understand how the Institute actually tests the subject.
The full subject spine. Built by working through the syllabus topic by topic, distilling the technical material into structured notes, and mapping each area back to the published competency statement. This is where students learn the module properly, without relying on inherited summaries or selective coverage.
The exam-shaped layer. Built from the competency statement and examiner feedback, with each note focused on what the student must be able to demonstrate. Part B turns the long-form material into scoring demands: what the examiner is looking for, where students lose marks, and how to revise each competency in the closing weeks.
The final toolkit. Built from recurring exam tasks, calculation patterns, decision routes, and common failure points. Depending on the subject, it includes formula cards, decision frameworks, answer skeletons, reference cards, integration maps, disclosure checklists, procedure cards, and fast lookup tools designed for final revision and exam execution.
Each pack is made up of three parts. The three are not duplicates. Part C teaches the topic. Part B turns it into competency language. Part A turns it into an exam move. That is the system behind every ACA Notes pack.
For students taking more than one FAE subject, the full module bundles can be combined.
CAP2 students can combine full print + digital sets across the four CAP2 subjects.
Most notes start with content and stop there. ACA Notes starts with the exam: the competency statement, the way requirements are asked, the mistakes students make, and the kind of answer that actually scores. The result is not just subject coverage. It is coverage converted into exam use.
A long set of notes can teach a topic, but it cannot do every job. That is why each pack is split into Part C, Part B, and Part A: learn the subject, master the competency, then execute the exam move. You are not left to build that structure yourself in the final weeks.
The packs are designed around the verbs that matter: advise, evaluate, recommend, calculate, justify, discuss. Concepts are explained, but always with the next question in mind: how will this appear in a case, calculation, discussion, or recommendation?
The aim is not to give you the shortest possible notes. It is to give you notes you can trust. Long-form coverage sits in Part C; sharper revision sits in Part B; fast exam tools sit in Part A. Depth where you need it, compression where it helps.
You should be able to inspect the material before paying for it. Samples show the structure, tone, density, and level of detail so you can decide whether the pack fits how you study.
